Old Marylebone Town Hall

A watercolour of Westminster Council House on Marylebone Road, where the ceremony will be held.

Getting There

The two venues sit just over a mile apart, straight down through Marylebone into Mayfair. Take a black cab or make the walk. Both are lovely on a July afternoon.

Dress for the Occasion

Black Tie / Formal

We would love for you to join us in dressing up for the day. As we will be celebrating in July, we appreciate that the summer weather may call for something a little lighter, so please choose what feels right for you within the spirit of black tie / formal.

Men

A well-tailored suit with a shirt and tie is perfectly suited to the occasion.

Women

Midi and floor-length silhouettes, with light fabrics a lovely choice for the summer.

One small request: please avoid white, ivory, cream, beige or similarly light shades.

With Love, Not Gifts

Having you there is genuinely the part that matters, and no gift is expected. If you would like to give something anyway, a contribution towards our honeymoon would be very kindly received.

Where to Stay

A few places within a short walk of one venue or the other, at both ends of the price list.

  • The Beaumont

Art deco, Mayfair, two minutes from the reception.

  • Hub by Premier Inn, Marylebone

On Old Marylebone Road, seven minutes from the ceremony and five from Edgware Road.

  • Hub by Premier Inn, Soho

Small, smart rooms on Hopkins Street, kinder prices, fifteen minutes from the reception.

  • Travelodge London Central Marylebone

The gentlest on the wallet, on Harewood Row, four minutes from the ceremony.

Getting Home

So many of you are travelling to be with us, and we are so grateful to have you by our side. Stay for as long as you can, and slip away whenever you need to. We will simply be so happy to have shared this special day with you.

Train home — Norwich

Walk to Bond Street and take the Elizabeth line to Liverpool Street, about ten minutes and no changes. Greater Anglia run from there to Norwich in around an hour and forty minutes, and the last train usually leaves about half past eleven.

Train home — Cambridge

Walk to Green Park and take the Victoria line to King's Cross, again about ten minutes and no changes. Trains to Cambridge take a little over an hour, and the last one usually goes shortly after midnight.

Good to Know

Can I bring a plus one?

We wish we could say yes to everyone. It is a small and rather intimate venue and we are at capacity, so we have had to keep the guest list to the names on the invitation. We hope you understand, and we promise you will know plenty of friendly faces in the room.

Is transport provided between the ceremony and reception?

Not organised transport, no. A black cab is the easiest way to get from Old Marylebone Town Hall to The Luggage Room and takes about ten minutes. If the weather is kind, the walk is a pretty one and takes around twenty.

Do I have to stay the night?

Not at all. We know some of you are travelling to be with us and may need to get home, and we would much rather you came than worried about the last train. Leave whenever you need to. Just having you there is enough.
